2 Guns is an adaptation of a comic book brought to the big screen, in this case of the comic book series from Boom! Studios of 2 Guns, created by Steven Grant and Mat Santolouco. Starring Denzel Washington as the DEA agent Bobbt Trench, and Mark Wahlberb as an NCIS (Naval intelligence service) officer Marcus Stigman, they are two undercover agents in the same operation that unwittingly lead parallel investigations from different agencies.
So each of them is a suspicious of the other as they are of the criminals they're seeking to stop ... until things go haywire, and the two will be discredited by their superiors, without protection, and all the bad guys in the story try to kill them.
